LaMuse Classic 2019

The LaMuse Classic is my favourite longboard event of the year. The stoke level amongst the ladies is through the roof, the organization is superb, the judging is world class and lets not forget the INCREDIBLE goody bags and prizes!

My first LaMuse classic I surfed when I was 6 months pregnant. The second year I sadly had to miss the event due to prior commitments – there was no way I was missing this year!

Winners from each division – Hayley Hansen, Remi Schoeman, Roxy Pitts, Angela Somogyvari, Kay Holt, Tarryn King and Michelle Van Kempen.

Winning this year was so special to me as I have never won the event before. It has been a goal of mine to win this prestigious event since the first year.

The event kicked off on Friday (Women’s day) and continued with finals day on Saturday. Both days the good old ‘Berg’ delivered` cooking, contestable waves for the competitors. There was a division for everyone from U14 Girls to Lady Legends (60+) to Novice; we even had a speciality event for the Moms & Daughters. Personally, this was the highlight of the event for me. I don’t have a daughter but I was lucky enough to ‘adopt’ Daisy Pollard as a daughter for the Mother & Daughter division and we had so much fun along with the rest of the moms and groms.

Cheree & Charmaine put on a world class event right on our doorstep. It was an honour to be part of this event and share it with all the amazing ladies that share the same stoke as I do.

Can’t wait for the next one xxx
