SURF LESSONS

Learn to surf at an iconic African surf destination. Addington Beach, the home of Xpression, is the ideal beginner’s playground – the best beach in KZN to learn to surf. Protected from big swell, there’s gentle waves every day, perfect for beginners. Our priority is to ensure you have fun and you’re safe.

Surfing lessons are for anyone who enjoys water and can do a push up! You don’t have to look what a surfer might look like in your head, or have the energy of an excited child – you just have to be looking for a memorable experience and have an ability to laugh at yourself.

Our surf instructors are all experienced and professionally qualified coaches – not just in surf coaching, but people coaching too. We believe in people skills, not just surfing skills! Our coaches are people who live what they teach and they’re passionate about it. We can almost guarantee we’ll get you up and riding, and not only that, you’ll have a truly memorable experience.

We have a range of surfboards available to suit all levels of experience from complete beginner to an intermediate surfer wanting to up their skill level. We use Reef soft top surfboards and Colby surfboards and have a range of shortboards and longer Mini Mals.

New to this and don’t have the kit? We have rash vests and wetsuits for you to use that are included in the price of the lesson.

So that the cost doesn’t stop the fun, we have a loyalty card program and if you do four surf lessons, you’ll get your fifth lesson free. This is usually a good amount of lessons to get someone confident enough to hire a surfboard and surf without a coach.

Please note, when we say a ‘one hour’ lesson, we mean one hour in the water. The stopwatch does not start ticking the moment you arrive at the shop. We book lessons in 90 minute slots to ensure you get at least one hour in the water.
